sanzAlejandro Sanz has been named 2017 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

He will be recognized for his successful career and his substantial philanthropic contributions to organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children and Greenpeace.

Alajandro will be honored during a star-studded gala that will feature a concert tribute during which notable artists and friends will perform some of his most popular songs. The event will take place on November 15 – the day before the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas.

“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the Latin Recording Academy,” Ale said in a statement. “I’m happy and excited to be able to experience what is sure to be a thrilling evening in the company of friends and colleagues.”

The announcement comes as Sanz celebrates the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough album “Más” – CONGRATS!!
