No Amor Prohibido? Como La Flor? No Me Queda Mas? Bidi Bidi Bom Bom? those were just a few of Selena’s #1 hits before her death and they are all classics. The list is ok, could have been better!

Most of it with the exception of Santana and Stan Getz is pop crap. Real musicians (like Chucho Valdes, Michel Camilo, or Arturo Sandoval) are not welcomed to popular radiostations.

Genie in the bottle over Hips don’t lie, even though Christina is latin, that is soooo not a latin song. Hips was huge, and it was full of Columbian instruments,it should of got higher. and Yes Selena is dead, but her songs should of made this list, and yes she is history,a legend in Mexico,la reina de texmex.

how does jlo make the list but selena doesnt (considering that jlo had to lip sing her songs in order to be where she is today)….and even if she did make it she definitely should not be before Gloria Esefan of Selena….i say REDO

this should have been called:
All-time Songs by Latin Artists
(songs by Latin artists that were successful in the US)
note: Selena’s only song that made it in the US Billboard Hot 100 was “Dreaming of You”…peaking at #22.

I am really disappointed in Latin Gossip.
They don’t want to do my story.
You guys know, how Estefan Enterprises made all these promises and never delivered.
They just refuse to acknowledge that they lied.
I’ ll just keep bringing this up till somebody decides that a disabled vet deserves more respect than this company and it’s CEO, Emilio Estefan have shown so far.

By the way I am not hiding behind the project name.
My name is John Jacobs.
I continued to fly into Miami for meetings with Emilio Estefan that we always cancelled.
As sole care provider for my elderly mom, she was left unattended for days at a time as I went to Miami.
Besides pursuing this “dream”, my goal was to relocate mom to FLA for what I felt would be a better quality of life.
Everytime I came back without having that meeting, mom was as disappointed as I was.
She passed after I returned from one of those trips.

selena defenitely should be on the list…without her there would not have been a a people en espanol…literally…after her death people did an issue on her and it sold out more than SIX times and then another picture later on that year…the editors decided that they should have a whole nother division to their magazine as a result of SELENA! so maybe she only went to number 22 in america, she still had huge impact on the mexican community especiall women…and one of the few mexican ppl that ppl outside of mexican people actually know about…ive yet to meet a person who hasnt seen that movie…just saying…

Obviously, Billboard doesn’t know how to distinguish between a latin song and a latin artist. Cristina Aguilera can be considered a latin artist but Genie in a Bottle, Lady Marmalade, What a Girl Wants? These songs have no latin rhythm (muy importante) or Spanish lyrics whatsoever. Most of J.Lo’s songs shouldn’t be here either. They should rename the list, Top Song by Latin Artists as someone suggested. Do your homework Billboard.

April 2009, nine years and Estefan Enterprises does not seem to think that misleading me for many, many years is a big deal.
I therefore issue a challenge for Emilio Estefan or Frank Amadeo to debate me on any show/platform on this situation.
If, I have done something wrong then it is I who will look like a fool.
If, on the other hand I am telling the truth like I have said for years then at the very least a public apology would be appreciated.
If the challenge is not accepted, well then you will all know why.
I am not out to embarass Emilio.
I just want to know from him, why, knowing what the A/R department of his company did by lying to me for years, HE has not stepped up and at least spoken to me.
The challenge has been issued!

This survey its really stupid! I thought it was the top Latin songs! not the Latin singers! So they are Latin singers performing mostly in English uh? You guys are crazy!!!!!!!! next time you do a survey please make those songs in Spanish !
by the way there are great performers out there that have Latin roots and have great #1 hits in America like Freddie Fender (Mexican- Tejano) Tony Orlando-Puerto Rican and others great singers who had #1 hits across America.
