Salma Hayek’s French Knighthood Criticized
News that Salma Hayek was being made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in France has prompted many to call it a joke.
Salma’s hubby, billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, happens to be a close friend of Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of France and the man who has the last word as to who receives the honor. Hmmm.
According to the government’s official journal, Hayek was chosen for her work as ‘director and producer (and) active member of charitable foundations for 23 years’.
BUT the people of France are very upset because the contributions should be made directly for the country and it seems that Salma may not quite fit the bill.
The award was created by Napolean Bonaparte in 1802 and many are saying he would be ‘turning in his grave’.
What do you think of all of this???

Let’s not pay attention to the French they are difficult people and usually dislike everything and everyone. I have deal with them. If you don’t believe me read: A Year in the Merde, about Paris and the French, a comic novel by Stephen Clarke published in 2004 under the pen name Paul West.
Francois-Henri Pinault most be a very cosmopolitan man to have chosen Salma as his lady.
