salma+hayekSalma Hayek was seen fighting back tears as she discussed the Manchester attack during a Q&A in Cannes for the annual film festival.

At least 22 people died in an explosion at Ariana Grande‘s concert at the Manchester Arena, after a lone suicide bomber launched an attack on the venue shortly after the performance had finished.

Revealing that Ariana is her daughter’s favorite singer, Salma said she had been unable to process the event that had unfolded in the UK.

When asked if she had a message for young girls who feel scared about the attacks, the actress shook her head.

“No,” she responded. “No, because I’m not sure what to feel today, and I’m terrified and I don’t know what to say to my daughter. And I’m not going to pretend that I’m sorted out, that I’m very smart about it, because I’m still emotionally impacted. In a way… I feel like the UK was invicted for a little bit.”
