Felicidades a Ricky!!!!

Although Ricky’s foundation began after rescuing 3 little girls from the streets of Calcutta, it has gone global. The RMF built homes in Thailand after the tsunami as well as in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. As the spokesman for People for Children, the portion of the foundation that educates and increases awareness about child trafficking, Ricky has spoken at the UN, before the US Congress, and at a Human Trafficking forum in Vienna. He has recorded Public service announcements in Spanish and English for use in the US, PR, Latin and South America. He is a UN Goodwill Ambassador and has supported Habitat for Humanity for years. He has performed at benefits in association with Sting, Pavarotti, Elton John, and Shakira. He has quietly helped children in his native Puerto Rico by supplying funds for summer camp, musical instruments, backpacks, and medical education scholarships. His dedication is quite admirable and remarkable compared to other celebrities. Your ignorance can be pardoned as long as you do something positive about it. Thanks Sonrisas for your detailed “cut and paste” discription of Ricky Martin’s foundation. It’s all good…Like I said, I had only heard of him helping kids from India, and as your blog above states, most of his emphasis is on helping kids from other places. But Good for him if he’s helping Latino kids, (That should always be priority) I mean u dont see celebrities from over there helping kids in the Barrio !
by the way, I will definitely check out the site to become “enlightened” hahahaha..the hell?? is this a cult or what?? hahahahaaha

You did miss the boat on this one! Ricky seems to be a really kind hearted man. I’m glad he is helping kids. But Suavecito, I don’t think he should just help Latinos. Sure that’s what he is and I get it. But I’m a white chick and I’m a dedicated fan–don’t have to be Latino to like him, right?! If I was rich and famous I would not just help Irish-American Catholic kids just because that is what I happen to be. So, spread the wealth baby!! And keep on keepin’ on Ricky!

Well I didnt say he should only help Latinos, I said that should be a priority. It should definitely be that way since, there are a lot of Latino kids who need the help. Lots of kids who live in poverty and would love a chance at a good education. I do get your response and respect it, at least you dont come off as as condesending and wacked out cult follower like Sonrisas…hahahaha
Cheers Colleen!!
