Poncho De Anda Out of Despierta America
Is he out of there??
Poncho De Anda has been absent from Despierta America for many weeks now and the explanation given was that he was recovering from back surgery.
However, he recently shot a diapers commercial…so of course we’re asking how he could be well enough to shoot a commercial and not DA?!
Well, People En Español has confirmed that he is no longer going to be on the morning show since his contract was not renewed!
His face and profile are still listed under the official Despierta America website so if he really is gone then perhaps someone should update that!
Bummer for Poncho. What do you think of all of this??

I have not watched that show in ages, that Chiqui has the most fake laughter I have ever heard, she is so fake herself, the old DA was much much better. Good for Raul Gonzalez I think he is the best. And I feel sorry for Poncho he also was good.

I agree with Gabster. I started disliking it after Giselle left. As with Sabado Gigante – shows I grew up with I can not bare to watch it. Too much immigration spots and it is no longer focused on us all being part of the latino community. Latino does not mean just mexican.

I watch the Mexican soaps, once in a awhile. I have also visited Mexico. Now, the soaps usually have light eyes actors and blonde or brunette but ”European looking”, as the principal characters of the soap operas, but the maids are always “native Mexicans, looking.” I don’t understand it. When I went to Mexico, I seldom saw blonde people; mostly black hair, slanted eyes, beautiful yes, but no a blonde in sight. And I was staying in a good hotel . They are always saying how proud they are of their own people, but they don’t show it. I ask you: “What is going on in Univision.?” Strange, I tell you! The Venezuelan “soaps”, show black people, blonde etc….They seem to be less prejudice. That is my perception.

This show has gone totally downhill. Our family use to be loyal since the beginning. This show is now lewd and borders on sexual harrasment. That Johnny Lozada is crude and out of control. Too bad, come on Univision President, get it together and bring back the awesome show that it was!

Mi familia y yo nos despertabamos biendo DA. Antes el show era mas educativo y daba muchos concejos para la familia, el hogar y educativos para la vida diaria. Las noticias eran dadas en un aspecto muy profecional. Sinceramente el DA de hoy en dia no tiene ni la mitad de profecionalismo que tenia antes. Ninguno de los presentadores coje nada enserio. Siempre que trato de ver el show termino por cambiar de canal por que todos los presentadores estas haciendo payasadas que no vienen al caso. Chiqui y Karla siempre estan en competencia para ver quien es la mas “bonita” y la mas “chistosa”. Desafortunadamente ya nadie en mi casa ve el show por que ahora esta lleno de payaserias y de individuos que no pueden mantener al televidente interesado en ver el show.. Ahora no queda nada bueno del show… Como lo era antes…!!!!

Que pena lo de PONCHO nespero que su salud este mejor. – Fue una punalada por la espalda el no revalidarle su contrato, especialmente porque habia sido operado. – Inmediatamente DA se fue de picada al abismo.
Ese programa DA sin el venezolano de Raul Gonzalez es mucho mejor, sobretodo cuando sale de dona Meche…..que terrible ! Tan pronto aparece, cambio de canal. Es un bufon malo y desagradable. – sus “invitados”….tambien son muy, pero muy desagradables.
UNIVISION se va para abajo dia a dia y lo mismo pasa con el otro pesado de Raul de Molina. _ Que homnre mas desagradable. Si yo fuera el esposo de Ninel Conde, ya le habria roto el hocico a ese chancho ordinario e irrespetuoso.
Su pobre mujer es humillada toda vez que ese gordo abre su hocico.

Karla holds that show together. She is the perfect combination of brains and beauty. Chinqui is as vapid as Ana Canseco but much better to look at. Raul is the Raul. He has to make noise to be noticed. Johnny Lozado is a great addition. A man’s man. Not a total goof like Raul. The show would be much better minus Raul. Johnny, Karla and Chinqui. I do miss Poncho because sometimes Karla has trouble controlling the children (Raul, Chinqui!)

Nada como los presentadores originales. Todo lo hacian con un profecionalismo. Tenian momentos divertidos y en cierto caso comicos pero nada en comparacion con lo de ahora. Se enfocan en caerle bien a el publico y no se enfocan tanto en las noticias. Esto se vuelve algo patetico y ni animos de verlos me da.

Hay la verdad que yo veo que Karla y Raul hacen. Ungran esfuerzo por el show. Pero la verdad se extrana mucho Ana Maria caseco y a Neida Sandoval, a pesar que ya tienen mucho de estar fuera del aire. A mi se me hace ke Raul es joto y como no haya como decirlo se viste de mujer mas y mas cada vez. El papel de Doña Meche le keda solo porke asi se pinta los labios y se toca mandandole señales a la persona con la cual se acuesta (hombre claro). I enjoy watching Despierta America in the mornings while getting ready to go to work. Some of the changes in the cast of presenters I do not agree with. The addition of Johnny I enjoy, the absence of Poncho I do not agree with. The addition of some of the so called “comedians” give the program an “air” of catering to an audience that lacks education & class. Please do not do that to the program. It is an insult to presenters in the caliber of Carla, Johnny & Raul, the name of the news caster escapes my mind at present, but I do enjoy her way of presenting the news. She is the one that recently got engaged, she also seems to be well educated & is a plus to your staff. Like I have already mentioned, the program can do without some of the so called “comedians”. Que lástima que Despierta America cada dia esta peor. Aunque tiene muchas secciones de interes, no soporto la algarabia que forman cada dia, es el que grita mas y la cantidad de personas disfrazadas de verdad que cansa. Hope the President of Univision reads the comments or their ratings will continue to go down. You need to listen to the people who are asking for changes. Starting with Despierta America cast. All those people changing into different charactersis ruining your show. Raul dressing into Mrs. Meche is annoying and I always change the channel. That Chiqui has the most boring comments and faked laugh. I loved Karla and Poncho because they appear real not faked. Johhny was a good choice without him changing into character. But all those Security getting into the show is degrating. You need the show to be like it was in the beginning. Stop trying so hard and remember the old shows. La realidad es que nunca mas han podido acercarse al profesionalismo de Ana Maria Canseco, Neida Sandoval y Fernando. Era un programa divertido, instructivo, lleno de noticias, pero sin tantas bufonadas ridiculas. Tengo la mejor opinion de Poncho, trasmitia la imagen de un joven bien educado, buen hijo, buen padre, muy feo lo de aprovecharse de su accidente para no renovarle el contrato. Ahora Raul no sabe que payasada inventar para competir con Johnny que evidentemente tiene mas talento que el.
Si siguen poniendo segmentos como los del nino prodigio, que de prodigio no tiene nada y la consultora espiritual, en verdad el programa cada dia ira perdiendo mas audiencia. No se que estara pensando el director de todo eso. Esto es un lugar donde no solo viven mexicanos, por favor.

I agree with all of the comments. I started watching DA show since day 1. I also find myself changing the channel to the other Spanish morning show because it’s more entertaining and not so silly. El primer año vi Despierta America, todos los dias, desayunaba en la cama y lo gozaba, por la novedad, claro. Es una lastima que de un tiempo para acá, haya decaido tanto, perdio no solo lacalidad sino tambien la clase, ahora es un caldo de micos extremadamente desagradable, por eso deje de verlo definitivamente. No me explico como se atreven a poner y sostener un personaje como doña Meche, es vergonzoso que Univisión se preste para que Raúl le de largas “a sus raresas”. Sería más digno de parte de este ‘presentador’, salir del closet de una vez por todas. Ninguno de los ‘presentadores’ de ese programa es agradable, deberian sacarlo del aire, no vale la pena. Lo mismo que el gordo y la flaca, que espanto de programas.

It’s a shame when networks make changes when it’s unnecessary to do so. Especially when it is for the worst. The host for shows such as DA & Casos de Familia are vulgar, boring and unprofessional, they are not even attractive or at least gracious. Shame on you Univision. Espero que algun dia los directores y productores de Despierta America se den cuenta del programa tan vulgar en que se ha convertido.
Me parece una falta de respectos que los televidentes tengamos que ver todos los dias tanta ridiculez especialmente de Raul Gonzales.
No entiendo como pueden mantener en este programa a una persona sin ningun carisma ni talento.
Gonzales cree que mientras mas bulla hace y mas se mete en todo mas va a llamar la atencion y claro que lo hace pero de una manera negativa. Yo personalmente no le soporto y mucho menos al personaje de Dona Meche. Por Dios, que alguien se de cuenta de como el rating del programa esta bajando por este senor.
Carla Martinez hace un esfuerzo para sacar el programa pero parece que entre todos los conductores todo el tiempo estan compitiendo para ver quien llama mas la atencion de cualquier modo (especialmente Raul G).
Tambien muchas veces parece que este programa solo esta dirigido a mexicanos porque todo es solamente Mexico para ellos (en especial Carla Martinez) y no se han dado cuenta que tambien hay o habian otros televidentes de otros paises que talves no les interesa lo que pasa en Mexico.
Si este programa quiere volver a ser lo que era debe pensar muy seriamente en recontratar a Fernando Arau y decirle goodbye al antipatico de Raul Gonzales.
Tambien espero que algun dia saquen del programa a Raul de Molina que es una persona sumamente desagradable y da nausea solo de verle, lo unico que sabe hacer es hablar mal de todo el mundo y como conductor no sabe en donde esta parado. Ademas de viejo y feo ya cansa con toda su arrogancia y prepotencia. Alguien deberia decirle a ese payaso que a nadie le importa ni su vida ni sus viajes. Que pena que UNIVISION no tome mas en cuenta la opinion de los televidentes que a la final son los que hacen que un programa tenga exito o no.

Realmente es una verdadera lastima que Univision quiera atraer teleaudiencia a solo gente ignorante sin educacion. Miren los canales americanos, Good Morning America, Today, esos programas si que dan gusto mirar porque tienen una variedad de noticias actuales, informacion de finanzas, y mucho mas. Es una lastima lo de Poncho, la mejor de las suertes en sus proyectos. En general los programas de Univisión son enfocados para la comunidad mexicana en Los Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica no es solo México. Los malos remakes de las buenas novelas Colombianas, solo presentan partidos de fútbol mexicanos y nada de las eliminatorias al mundial 2014 de las Selecciones suramericanas que tiene mucha mas calidad futbolistica. DA esta de mal en peor, muchos gritos y desorden; Raúl y Karla ya no le aportan frescura al show, Raúl cada vez mas payaso y llorón. Univisión tiene que aprender de la calidad de programas que tienen Telemundo y Tvfutura. Escuchen a los televidentes que queremos mas calidad, variedad y cultura de Latinoametica. Gracias!!

Tengo muchos años viendo DA y me he dado cuenta como ha desmejorado. Soy latina con mucho orgullo y no soy racista, pero sólo se enfocan en México (comida, fútbol, novelas, y noticias). Las bandas mexicanas no son del gusto de todos. Esto es USA, pónganse a la altura de programas americanos, con clase y profesionalismo.
He tratado de acostumbrarme a los nuevos, pero Raúl es tan arrogante y piensa que es SU programa, el piensa que baila mejor, rapea mejor, y su risa fingida es tan notable. La única que se ve natural y profesional es Karla.
Nada parecido a Gisel, Fernado, Rafa, Neyda, Ana, te reías y te informabas; sin tanta bobadas como Doña Meche. Por favor no nos ridiculisen más.

Katuris, I dont agree, I think Karla Martinez is the only likeable and authentic personality in DA. Im glad Chichischirra left because she thinks she can walk on water and that shes a gift to humanity with her butt that looks so fake and ridiCULOus to everyone else but her, that was just a bad surgery.As for Raul, it seems he has leverage there because he always does what he wants and crossdresses at every whim, so he probably has powerful “friends” in Univision. Other than that he is ok. But why did they have to yank the only eye candy from this pathetic show? Poncho was an air of fresh air in that stale set. Im glad they got rid of that “new” cheap looking set they had, it was all white and looked cold and not homey, which it should not be.

Thank God for PBS, thats the only thing worth viewing that respects the bit of viewer intellect left after so much Univision, Fox, Telemundo, ect.
