Paquita La Del Barrio Can’t Take The Backlash
Paquita La Del Barrio is definitely feeling the much-deserved backlash for her comments against the gay community.
Her music is being banned by most gay clubs around the world and drag queens who played the role of Paquita are deciding not to pay her homage anymore.
Groups across the nation have gathered to destroy her CDs in protest and even a few PR companies and event organizers are blacklisting her.
In a new interview with El Gordo y La Flaca, Paquita is seen crying and saying that she has considered taking her own life since saying those strong words against homosexuals.
Suicide is never the answer. It’s tough not to feel bad for her and we hope she grew as a person in recent days.

I’m not gay or am I close to someone gay but I support those who are because I respect people for who they are and how people conduct their sexual lives is not of my concern. Everyone has their own believes and I understand that but Paquita as a public figure should watch what she says because her career depends on her fans. Whether she realizes it or not that includes gay people. Her view on gay adoption is an extreme one. She should have left it as something she doesn’t support due to whatever her upbringings were, but to go as far as say that she would rather have a child die than be adopted by a gay person is not a belief, this is HATE. I don’t wish bad on anyone but she brought this on herself and now has to find a way to correct this. For some reason I’m finding it hard to believe she is serious about taking her life for the backlash she is receiving. I think instead of taking responsibility for the things that came out her mouth, she is seeing herself as the victim. She doesn’t realize that with her HATE speech she is victimizing gay people who only want to have the same ability to parent a child the way everyone else has the chance to. She needs to get a grip of who are the true victims of her hate speech and commiting suicide is not a way of getting out of this mess.

I do not agree with the comment she made, but i also think the media her own team are both in part the blame for this. One single apology should have suffice. However she feels about the politics of her comment is her on choice, but maybe other will think twice before openly discriminating a particular group of people. ESPECIALLY, when many of her fans/concert goers would be gay themselves.

dejen a paquita en paz.. con una disculpa es suficiente. ella jamas dijo que estaba en contra de los gay. he visto mas odio de los gay y los que los apoyan a lo que lo que ella dijo. que mas quieren? comerse viva a paquita? ya dejense de mamadas. si quieren respeto tambien respeten las ideas y formas de vida de los demas. yo tampoco estoy de acuerdo, ni yuri ni tanta otra gente a la adopcion por gays. no se va a acabar el mundo por eso.

I agree 100% Wallflower. She wants to be a victim. The gay people who she offended are the real victims.
Freedom of Speech is great but we all have to watch our mouths sometimes or be big enough to own up to the consequences that follow. Obviously she can’t. And people have the right to not accept her apology if they don’t think it is genuine.
