Montserrat Olivier vs. Lion…Lion Wins

by Latin Gossip Staff on 08.08.2006 - Celebrity Blunder

MontserratOlivier051.jpgIt is bad enough to have an accident at work and have to have emergency surgery on your spine, but imagine returning to work and whithin a few days having your finger bit off…by a lion! According to People en Español, that is exactly what happened to Montserrat Olivier today while she was filming her new show Hijas de la madre tierra.

“The lion was very gentle. I was grabbing her lips and her nose, and while she was playing, she didn’t attack, she bit and cut my finger from the nail,” explained Montserrat in a press conference after fully recuperating.

Haven’t we learned anything from Siegfried and Roy? If I was Montserrat I would bathe in holy water before I stepped foot out of my house. Someone has something out for her. Keep the evil spirits away.

  • Eva.jpgEva Longoria tries really hard to push the sales of the DVD of the second season of Desperate Housewives. “This was, definitely, the best work I’ve ever done in my life.”
  • Benicio.jpgBenicio Del Toro spent some time on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to commemorate the star that was given to acting teacher Stella Adler, who died in 1992.
  • Jlo.jpgJennifer Lopez dropped Dallas because supposedly the script sucks and John Travolta, who was supposed to play her husband, was “less-than-strapping.” Meaning she felt he wasn’t man enough for the part.

Penelope Doesn’t Heart Bush

by Latin Gossip Staff on 08.07.2006 - Chisme, Penelope Cruz, Quotes

PENELope.jpg A few days after announcing that she saw Suri and wants to take some time off, Penelope makes some strong statements about President Bush and the war in Iraq. She says:

“I like a lot of things about my (Spanish) President (JOSE LUIS RODRIGUEZ ZAPATERO). (But Bush?) No! “I have always been against war. But I was particularly upset by the Iraq war. “Every day you see 60 more dead, 80 more. You know when we were saying you create your future by imagining the future. When I dream about what the world will be like in a couple of centuries, it’s always terrifying. “We are getting to a point where war could mean something else – something even more horrific than what is meant before.”

I guess she wanted to give her final words before she took a few months off. Get it off your chest hermana!

Niurka Breaks Silence About Bobby’s New Girls

by Latin Gossip Staff on 08.07.2006 - Amor, Niurka Marcos, Quotes

NIurka.jpg I already shared with you that Bobby Larios was seen in Miami and Mexico with about three different girls in the past month. His soon to be Ex, Niurka Marcos (they officially are divorced on August 14th), finally shared her feelings of the videotapes of Bobby canoodling with these girls in nightclubs and beaches recently. She says:

“It is easy to go around and hook up. It is difficult to demonstrate talent, maturity, growth, and prosperity.”

OK Mr. Miyage. While I don’t totally disagree with her, I do believe that Niurka has always done what she wants to do regardless of what people think so why is she judging Bobby now? Let him be. Let him get his groove on.

Christina Wouldn’t Do American Idol

by Latin Gossip Staff on 08.07.2006 - Christina Aguilera, Musica, Quotes, Televisión

ChristinaChristina Aguilera makes a few statements about the reality shows that are about singing contests. You’d think that she would say that she’d win any contest, but instead she says:

“It’s great for the kids to show their talents – and if this is really what they want to do, that’s a great way to start. “I’m not sure I’d enter now if I was trying to make it, though. The judges are so critical – I would be too afraid to fail!”

Am I the only one who thinks that she would cremate the competition? Like her music or not, her voice is phenomenal. Or is this just a bad case of an illness called modesty?
