by Latin Gossip Staff on 09.25.2006 - Amor, Chisme

Christina Milian.jpgPacking Prive nightclub in Miami Beach, Christina Milian danced away her early-birthday party with guests including boyfriend Dre (of Cool and Dre), Pharrell Williams, DJ Khaled, and Mr. Mauricio.

Christina’s birthday isn’t until Tuesday, but either way she brought down the house at Prive partying it up until the wee hours of the morning. She could have very well partied until her actual birthday, when she officially turns 25.

RBD Fans in Brazil. Some Steal, Some Can’t Breathe

by Latin Gossip Staff on 09.24.2006 - Musica, RBD

RBD2.jpgThree thousand RBD concert tickets were stolen in Brazil and authorities are all over the case to identify the bar codes of those tickets and deny entrance to those ticket holders. Teenage pop music lovers gone wild! Gotta love it.

In related news, RBD performed in Belem de Pará, Brazil and a reported 350 people were treated for bad taste suffocation and dehydration. This is the second time in Brazil where ambulances and hospitals were filled with RBD fans who thought that by yelling, crying, and dehydrating themselves, they would garner the attention of one of the RBD-ers.

Timbiriche is Back! Kind of! Sort of! Not Really!

by Latin Gossip Staff on 09.24.2006 - Musica, Paulina Rubio, Thalia

Timbiriche120.jpgThey say the 80s are back. The music. The clothes. Just please not the hair. It was first reported on Latin Gossip that Menudo was planning a comeback, and now the world will be up to its pop band limits with the reincarnation of Timbiriche. Their return is scheduled for early December.

Not all will be the same since the newly reformed band comes without the participation of its most famous singers, Thalia and Paulina Rubio. They are the major reason why this band’s name still gets mentioned today to begin with.

Having Timbiriche without Thalia and Paulina is like eating a powdered donut without a drink. Sure you can eat it, but it is going to be difficult and painful to swallow.

Speaking of painful, check out the mugs of Paulina Rubio and Thalia from their Timbiriche days after the jump.

Barbara Bermudo, You’re Not That Much Younger

by Latin Gossip Staff on 09.23.2006 - Televisión

Maria Celeste.jpgAccording to, Barbara Bermudo made some unnecessary comments about Maria Celeste Arrarás, and of course Maria Celeste is not happy about it at all. Barbara is the host of Univision’s news show Primer Impacto and Maria Celeste is the host of Telemundo’s equivalency Al Rojo Vivo and she has made appearances on American shows, like Today on NBC. During an interview in Puerto Rico, Barbara was asked if she would crossover into the Anglo market like Maria Celeste has been and is doing so successfully. Her response:

“At the moment no. Maria Celeste, for example, is a person that has reached a certain age [45] where she has to, up to a certain point, move. I don’t want to call her old, no, but I still have many years ahead of me.?

Maria Celeste responded by saying:

“It is a comment that demonstrates a total lack of being in touch with her audience. Evidently, she doesn’t recognize that a large part of her audience is made up of working women of my age (…) I am the first that announces her age in all directions and am very proud of my accomplishments. My experience has taught me that when you’re on top, you always get stones thrown at from the bottom.”

Barbara’s comments make no sense. She showed no class or respect for Maria Celeste. We all know Maria Celeste is accomplishing great feats and is showcasing the face of Latinos in the right format. Applause for Maria Celeste. Boo for Barbara.
