Latin Gossip

Part of being Latin is knowing a good deal when you see one. This week on the Discovery Download section of iTunes, hip-hop group Tres Coronas is offering their song “Mi Tumbao” as a free download. iTunes describes them as:

The “three crowns� referenced in this group’s name do not allude to a round of brews for the boys – it actually stands for South America, United States, and Europe, where the trio’s roots are found. With a strong Latin style integrated into a hip-hop flow, “Mi Tumbao� stands strong as this week’s free Discovery Download.

With reggaeton looking to find a way to stay hot, this song is a strong indication of the way latin music and hip hop can be combined in the next wave of latin hip hop. Check the song out. You know you’re latin if you recognize the sample they borrowed from a classic.
