Beyonce Tries to Latin It Up
Taking note of the buying power and importance of Hispanic consumerism, Beyonce has released her latest tracks, Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm, in Spanglish and ringtone versions and they are available through Univision.
Even if you’re not interested in purchasing the ringtones, listen to them so you can hear Beyonce doing her best Iris Chacon impression.

[…] The Bad News: Look at the cover of the mag. Notice something odd? That’s right. That lady to the right in the green dress is Beyonce - as in ‘Not a Latina Beyonce’. While we admit that she is a beautiful girl and has tremendous talent, we can’t help but to point out that she does not belong on this list. Los 50 Mas Bellos is our turn to celebrate our people and now we have Beyonce on the list (not to mention the cover) based solely on the fact that she is marketing herself to Latinos (Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Exhibit C), when we could be highlighting another Latino instead. In my opinion, she is who she is. The fact that she does have French and Indian, well that would make her part Latina and Part everything else regardless of what everyone else wants to call her.
I, myself am mixed with French, German, Italian, Pilipino, Indian, and Puerto Rican. My mother was born in Mexico, but our bloodline tells a whole different story. Still when I say I’m not Mexican I hear the same BS. I always say I am Latino because that word represents all Latinos of all color and culture.
I am not ashamed and I am not confused either, I just feel LATINO is a better fit for me.
I think Beyonce is simply just expressing herself to let everyone know she is who she is and proud of it. French is of Latin origin, like it or not.
Look at the DeBarge family, they are considered black because that’s how the media made them appear, but they are Puerto Rican (Latino Heritage Background), it’s just the way it is. The only reason why such claims are being made is because it is assumed that ALL Puerto Ricans are black.
Back in the days way before our time, there were allot of runaway slaves that went to South America, were accepted, mixed races were born in those areas as well as here in North America and other parts of the world. And yes it was scientifically proven that we all have DNA of African descent because YES, it is where it all began.
You know, I may be the first Latino to ever admit that, loll.
Anyways, she is who she is and people should just let her be, she is beautiful in every way and in my opinion, she is of the HUMAN RACE.
Love, peace, and happiness… Jose.
