La Lupe! You must watch this video. She was known for her energetic performances…pay special attention to the removal of her ring and shoes, she rolls up her sleeves, she plays with her hair. She is all over the place.
Even if you don’t know or remember her, it’s important for us to go back and learn about our history, because it is a beautiful one.
La Lupe’s career was booming but she was later dropped by her label because she was deemed too controversial and they decided to support Celia Cruz instead.
