I don’t understand how sanctioning an already deprived population is supposed to endear the world to the oppressed people. What they need is a little taste of how good a new way of life can be so they have something to work towards. Ignoring them is brutal at best, and treating those who show sympathy to them as political enemies is even worse. The politics of the past have failed where Cuba is concerned (on both sides), so it’s time for a NEW approach. I applaud Olga and Juanes for taking such a bold, empathic, and noble step.

It was great for these brave performers to go to Cuba and perform for the people of Cuba who have suffered so much. Hopefully their suffering will end soon. Castro cannot live for ever. President Obama is great for recognizing Olga and Juanes for the good deed they did in going to Cuba. By doing so it shows the people in Cuba that they are not forgotten.
