El Cantante Makes Big Money
Bella wasn’t the only film that did well at the Toronto Film Festival. El Cantante, with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, received the biggest deal from the festival at $5 million from Picturehouse. The film is scheduled to be released in July 2007.
Picturehouse spokesman Bob Berney says, “The Latino community is really an underserved market, but because of the music and the cast, we really think it can cross over.”
It’s about time Jennifer had something going on. She has been real MIA but hopefully with this film and her Spanish album, we can all start to enjoy a little Jennifer a lot more. Otherwise, she should have taken full advantage of this time away from the spotlight and had a baby, learned a new language, or studied a new religion. Doubt it. We all know Marc has homegirl on lockdown.
