Did Jennifer Lopez Pick Tom Cruise as Godfather?

There is a rumor going ’round that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have picked Tom Cruise as the godfather of the twins!!!
According to ShowbizSpy:
“Tom is delighted. Marc wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids’ godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree.”
We’ll have to wait and see if this is true or not.

Call me old fashioned if you want, but I personally feel godparents should be family members and friends you are really close to and trust. Not that my personal views mean squat, but, just saying. LOL

Do godparents usually share the same religion as their godchild? Usually. According to Catholic Enquiry.com, at least one godparent must be Catholic. A non-Catholic cannot be considered for the other position unless he or she is a Christian.
