George Lopez’s Lopez Tonight Canceled
Canceled!!
George Lopez‘s late-night cable talk show Lopez Tonight has been canceled after less than two years on the air, following lackluster ratings.
A network spokesperson said:
“TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of ‘Lopez Tonight’. Thursday will be the final episode of the show.”
To be fair, when Conan O’Brien‘s talk show took over its time slot, George’s show was moved to a later time and ratings have since declined.

You just lost a fan. I tuned in every night to watch George Lopez, this Thursday will be my VERY LAST TIME tuning in to your station. It’s bad enough that we can count latinos on TV with one hand. Pendejos!
Like George says, “tan locos”…..but in TBS’ case, they’re just stupid.

It’s a shame that us minorities cannot succeed on late night.
Arsenio Hall was the only minority to achieve success during late night.
I read somewhere that they sacrificed Lopez for O’Brien just like NBC did with O’Brien and Leno. They want O’Brien to suceed not Lopez!
If his show was doing well during the other time slot, why is it not doing well now? UMMMMM

The show sucked. Same boring, tired Mexican jokes! Conan is way funnier anyways. Why do people always have to make it about race? It’s called DVR, if people really wanted to watch his show they could have.

I agree with some of the comments here hinting at the fact that this is one more time leaving us, Latinos out of primetime. I think this is a small victory for all of us and we should be proud of him. I did watch his show about twice, and thought he was funny. It always nice to see a different complexity on TV other than the regular.

Im sorry but George was not funny anymore ..yes he is a latino that has made it but come on now his jokes were of bad taste. . so he because he made it he’s allowed to clown his race , the latino jokes were distasteful ..if so many people really did find him funny and enjoyed the show his numbers would have been higher and the time slot wouldnt have mattered or the channel..dont blame it on Conan who is actually funny and dont make it a race issue ,and now that he is making it a race issue ..its like really George ,why dont you try harder .?..in my opinion Jay Leno , Jimmy Fallon, and Carson Daly are not at all good , now Craig Ferguson , Jimmy Kimmel ,of Course Johny Carson and let me not forget Arsenio they were great at their Late night talk shows ,good talk and great laughs..

I am not latino. I dont care for Georg Lopez is latino or from Mars, I think he is funny, very funny. And his humor goes without f-words. f this, f that, whats so funny about that? Georg has style. And I love people who can make fun of themeselves. Nobody can help. where he comes from, we all cant change for we are from New Yourk or Atlanta or somewhere else. People who dont understand his sarcasm are better off not watching a show like that. Unfortunatly we all can’t watch him now anymore. Good by, George, we gonna miss you!!!

If anything had to do with his race it was his unfunny ass getting a show in the first place, A show can’t last if it only appeals to one demographic.

I loved is show, the energy was fun and cozy,, from the set, lightng, great and talented band, george always looked nice and well groomed, and although his monolouge may have needed some change from the latino jokes a little… his interviewing /hosting of all his guests was very nice,, and never boring… if the guest was having boring moments- george would keep our attention by sayng something or smiling or…. he was playful and fun… I knew the day he announced , after the first year, that his timeslot was moving to midnight that it would go down in rating,,, most people are in bed or getting ready for it or at midnight.. its easy to stay up to midnight but staying up til 1 am makes it too late… and then when u ad that he divorced Anne and its pretty much well known that he did for bad behavior…. people stopped liking him….
lets hope that george goes to have a show elsewhere cuz he is a good interviewer and keeps the converstaion interesting..
