Does Joan Sebastian Not Like His Male Fans?
In THIS VIDEO, Joan Sebastian basically runs away from a male fan that joined him on stage to have a good time. Homophobia much?
Women do this type of thing ALL THE TIME, and it is usually received very well by the artist…but it seems that Joan was uncomfortable that it was a dude.
He DOES shake his hand, but then jumps and scurries away as the fan tries to go for an innocent hug.
We love Joan, but doesn’t he know music is for everyone and that the male fan he turned away purchases his ticket and buys his music just like his females fan do?

Have you forgotten what happened to his son? Its one thing when a woman goes up and another when a male does it well my reaction is not that his homophobic but just cautious. How could he know if this guy didn’t have a knife or something. Gossiper please not everyone is homophobic, like you seem to suggest about just any artist possible. Stop the Hate!

Yes, Lets not forget about the incident with his son. And obviously there was no security as this man was able to get and stay on stage without a problem. By the actions of this he man he could be on something or anything.

I agree with gossiper on this one. You can see he walks away and pushes another man as if to say you dance with him. The man stays behind. If it was a dangerous person or if they feared he was going to do somehitng bad then they would have gotten security or done something. He does look like he doesnt want to get hugged by him. If he was scared he would have ran away and not come back until he was escorted out. Also, that he is a man shouldn’t change things. Are you saying only men can murder someone? Like a woman has never killed anyone before? Bottom line if it was a woman he would have sang to her, hugged her, and stayed on stage.

I don’t think he was being homophobic, the man comes up and starts dancing all crazy swinging arms and kicking. I have been to Joan Sebastian concerts a few times and when fans come up to him they are usually more calm than this man in the video both men and women. On the other hand one never pleases, had he stayed there and danced with that man the media would then start speculating that he is homosexual.

LMAO… this was to funny! Did you not see how that man was dancing, shit he could have kicked Joan in the balls. He had to take cover and then he came back. I think Joan was just fine. He came back and started to sing.

gossiper, can you believe im disagreeing with you on this?! goodness, im always agreeing with you on everything. however, ima say he’s just being cautious. that guy pretty much lunged at him from the crowd. whether he had a gun or a knife or was unarmed, i wouldnt make contact with him either! he was a big guy who couldve easily tackled joan sebastian. the fact that he was allowed to prance around on that stage for so long is ridiculous! where was security?! if people wanted to hurt him, after seeing this video they’d see how easily it would be to ambush him on-stage. lets just PRAY that he hires a competent security detail and doesnt end up like his son trigo, or valentin elizalde, or zayda, or sergio gomez.

Knowing Joan he is not homo phobic. Remember his son was assasinated in a venue such as this. If you notice after he realized this guy was harmless he comes back to shake his hand and continue his song. Homo phobic no! Skeptical because of the loss he has personally felt, yes plus with all the violence in Mexico I would be very skeptical!

I love Joan Sebastian and I am a man…but I would never try to go at him. I’d politely shake his hand and ask for a picture together while we sing “Maracas”
