Fonseca Talks of Don Omar’s Drug Lyrics
We aren’t the only ones disappointed in Don Omar for linking drugs to Latinos in his new song Sexy Robotica.
Quick refresh…he talks about Marijuana and Washington Heights, which is primarily composed of Dominicans, and then talks of a magic and fine powder from Colombia, which we all know he means cocaine.

Fonseca spoke exclusively with Al Rojo Vivo about how he feels about this and said:
“Indignado, creo que Colombia tiene demasiadas cosas para mostrar para que alguien venga a cantarle a algo que nos ha hecho tanto daño que es la droga y el narcotrafico. Ahí sí que rechazo total y me parece además una cosa ridícula.”

This is a joke. So what? Don Omar is just making music. It’s a damn song. Look at Slim Shady aka Eminem. He talks all that mess and no one takes his goofy a** seriously, even though he takes about everyone and their mama. Get real people. It’s music. Sounds like some just say things just to get media coverage or they have nothing better to do.
I don’t see many people whining about Pit Bull who does nothing but degrade women in his videos in all he wants is booty. Yet many support him because it’s just music. Back to Don Omar he isn’t the only one to do this and he shouldn’t be singled out for this when many artist do this in every race and people don’t take it personal!

Don Omar looks like a drug dealer himself. I can’t stand his music but obviously some people do. His music to me is nothing to brag about. I have heard many other singers with better qualities than Don Omar.

You guys all defend Don Omar when clearly he has done something wrong. Yeah, its music that’s what all of you guys are saying, but how would you feel if they said stuff about mexican beaners and los carzy venezolanos. It’s something that is hurting Colombia right now. Sure we will always be known for that but it doesn’t need to be reminded to us in every freaking song that some ignorant decides to create. Don Omar seems to have forgotten to that he himself has bought the “magical powder” and bought it from who: COlombia! I just hope that someone writes another song tambien diciendo lo que se le de la gana de todoss y cada pais que se le den la gana. We are so tired of all the bad things being reminded to Colombians. Fonseca has every right to say whatever the hell he wants too.

What would happened if Fonseca starting talking Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans? I don’t think Don Omar would be too happy then right, so what gives him the right to talk about Colombia?

Ok this guy is part of a musical movement that is reflecting barrio life in the States..I’m sure he doesn’t have anything against Colombia…look at all the rap videos showing rappers going down to Colombia and calling themselves “El Jefe”…it’s part of playing the part of being “Hard”, that’s all…Fonseca is more of a pop suburban prepy flow, that’s why he wouldn’t sing about the same things…Like I said, I dont even like Don Omar, but I know where he’s coming from…it’s all an act to keep in touch with his audience……And like I said, Colombia is known for a lot more than Ye-Yo…esas son mujeres..love Ilia Calderon!!!

I don’t think it’s just about Colombia, it’s all of the Latin American Countries being glamorized for Drugs and sex, plus the music is being listened to by young impressionable kids.
Don Omar is old enough to know that he is a role model whether he likes it or not.
It’s always the same crap latinas are looked upon as Sex symbols and Latinos as drug selling pimps.
Look at all of the reggeton and narco corridos.
Same crap different so called artist!

Its ironic, a lot of other artists do this type of stereotyping in their music, but you dont constantly hear about them or what they said, but when Don Omar does it its all of a sudden a big deal, and that it was wrong of him.
If you’re going to complain about Don Omar and what he said, then you need to complain every time someone else does it.
So………can everyone just shut up about it, its not that serious
