Seriously Enrique was invited, Pilita. He was one of the first batch of artists that were listed to be taking part in the concerts back when the orginal press release came out.
As for his motivation…who knows. Enrique said that he watched Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” movie and thought it would be a good idea to get involved but if he wanted to promote his cd as well then he wouldn’t be alone. Almost all of the performers on the bill had an album to promote.
Also Enrique never even performed the single from the the new album or his next single so I doubt he was there just to pimp his new album.

And yet strangley enough he’s sang completely live at several major events. The Superbowl, A Tribute to Heroes oh and Live Earth. Your argument would have made much more sense if the world hadn’t just seen him sing live.
If an interviewer asks him to sing on the spot he usualy does it. Infact…..

I have his new album and it is a more mellow version of his. Five songs are really good, another three are listenable and the rest are either cheesy or plain boring. The standout track is “Tired Of Being Sorry” (Amigo Vulnerable). It kinda sounds like Nek meets Robbie Williams but with Enrique’s thin voice…which I actually quite enjoy in a guilty pleasure way-my mom’s the big fan!
