Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Yunel Escobar apologized for using his face to display a homophobic and immature message during a recent game.

Underneath his eyes he painted the phrase ‘Tu Ere Maricon’.

First off, don’t even get us started on the missing S in the word ‘eres’.

He was suspended for three games and, in talking to the press, said:

“I feel bad, I’m leaving my team for something I didn’t intend to do. I have nothing against the gay community and honestly I’m sorry. It was just a joke and it wasn’t directed to anyone in particular.”

He also said the word has a different meaning in Spanish so he was asked to define what it means in Español and he didn’t really give an answer to that – because we all know it means the same thing in Spanish and English.

Tu ere not funny.
