When Daddy Yankee Met John McCain
Daddy Yankee met up with presidential hopeful John McCain in Washington DC to discuss all things politics, specifically pertaining to youths and Latinos.
McCain hopes to win over Daddy’s vote and ultimately his public endorsement.
We’ll have to wait and see if McCain made a good impression on him.
We hope Daddy also meets up with Barack Obama to hear him out as well before he makes any type of decision.

Yo Jose, of coarse yankee can vote, once you step in the U.S. in Puerto Rico we don’t vote for Presidents cause we are not associate with the Union, but the candidates for presidency needs the vote of the PR delegates so they can be elected. We Puerto Ricans have contributed for this country since the first war. We shouldn’t cause all of the bad things U.S have done to our people, for example using our country for navy tests, throwing bombs with radiation and people dying. Injecting cancer cells to patients and using out woman like guineas pigs for birth control pills. You don’t know what you are talking about you are just another ignorant, envy hispanic from another country who are mad of Puerto Ricans for always being in the top. I have to deal with this crap day and night. Especially with mexicans, salvadorians, and other hispanics. Tired of you people.

In listening to the radio and hearing Daddy Yankee was endorsing McCain -that just made me sick to my stomach!!!! – Realistically speaking i’ve never favored Aritists using thier popularity to focus on other initiatives that has nothing to do with their Art.
As if in this case McCain will start funding initiatives to help latinos and so fourth.
I’ve read the threads and agree with most and even if McCain has used his john handcock to help immigrants; my question would be to what extent??
It’s much bigger than that; if we can’t lean on hope and change then what does Mr. Daddy Yankee suguest us to do when we don’t have enough funds to provide our children with tools needed to succeed. Even if he had both parents; Doesn’t he remember how tough if was/is for a single Latina woman to raise her children w/out the opportunity to grow….
for 8 years we’ve been under a republicans belief on how the country should function???
I don’t know about you Daddy but for 8 years me and my fellow peers have been struggling to achieve more than the previous year… Yes we need change!!
I know you have money now, i know you have a well respected livelihood.. you should look at the majority of fans and you should ask yourself..
como yo puedo representar a mi gente que yo clamo en mi musica… Rubbing elbows with the rich is a priviledge Daddy; Dont forget where you come from.
I hope this hits you and you think about your Actions… since you put yourself on Blast… let me ask you? Scheme to get publucity? They say publicity is publicity whether is bad or good? I hope you did this for more concrete reasons than getting your name out there and becoming the next “Diddy” in encouraging fans to vote… Pero “Dadddy” porque los republicanos si a ellos les importa un Carajo si los boricuas o Latinos tienen exito… – Pero tu tienes Exito verdad, Bravo Daddy Yankee…
Sincerely,
Sad Fan from Boston

His songs doesn’t have to do nothing with this opinions. Each person has their own reason. First you haven’t heard why did he do it. Yankee is a really smart person, I know him personally he is humble, has a good heart, understands the need of people cause he has been thru it. He few of the artist who goes back to the hoods in PR and sits down in the balcony and chills with your family and friends. Yankee always puts GOD first then his Family. Just because he has money does not mean he is like other people. He has many foundations and one is in the red cross. He helps kids in the barrios and adults who are struggling with addiction and financial problems. You better stop with your ignorance and inform yourself, and I bet you don’t understand 80% of what his songs mean. check out daddyyankee.com

Yo David L. Wylie,
Don’t be so ignorant just cause Yankee is not an immigrant does not mean he cares about other hispanics. I can see you are those typical Americans who just care about themselves. We Puerto Ricans actually care about other people and support them. Cause we where raised with morals and values not with selfishness and materialism. “Guess who’s everything around me” B.I.G that type of mentality. We send food and clothe to Dominican Republic every month. We care about immigration, but unfortunately many hispanics talk crap about us cause they are jealous for many reasons. I can believe how much ignorance exist in this world and the funny thing is we are about to go to a new year 2009.

I truly don’t care for either candidate. McCain’s foriegn policy would continue to agitate the world, while Obama’s liberal “Socialist” agenda would lead us straight to slavery in America. McCain favors smaller goverment beaurocracy but fails to acknowledge corporate greed/corruption. Obama favors big government but fails to acknowledge beaurocratic waste/poor service. They both threaten war with Iran and bow before Israel. The lessor evil is McCain because Obama would “Change” the country to “Socialism” disguised as liberal democracy.

Jamie.. you said:

Everyone from every culture was raised with morals. No culture is jealous of another, nor will there ever be. No culture is better than another, either. So yet you criticize David for his comments, but yet you make ignorant ones like these? Who cares if you know DY?
So all of you, especially the women who are republican, and supports DY for his ‘ideals’ and agree with McCain’s ideals.. here’s some McCain facts:
1. In August 1983 he fought against the MLK holiday, voting to block a piece of bipartisan legislation honoring him that was supported by even conservative Republicans- including Dick
Cheney-and signed into law by President Reagan.
McCain went on to resist recognizing a King holiday in his home state of Arizona. When Arizona’s state legislature failed to pass a bill recognizing a holiday honoring Dr. King, the governor at the time, Bruce Babbit, created the holiday by executive order. Babbit’s successor, Gov. Evan Mecham rescinded the order as his first act in office, doing away with the holiday. John McCain’s response? He defended the governor, not Dr. King.
In 1990, seven years after his initial vote, McCain went along with establishing a King holiday. On the campaign trail in 2000, facing questions about his history on this issue, McCain declared he had “evolved.”
2. McCain voted 4 times against the Civil Rights Act of 1990- a bill designed to make it easier for employees to prove job discrimination and imposing harsher penalties on bosses who discriminated.
3. In 2004 he opposed affirmative action in college admissions–a key component of the 1964 Civil Rights Act that is among King’s key legislative victories.
4. Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), spearheaded by Sen. Joe Biden and after years of lobbying, passed in 1994. VAWA was signed into law by President Bill Clinton, renewed in 2000 and expanded in 2005 (signed by President George W. Bush).
VAWA’s intent is to improve the national response to domestic violence and sexual assault. VAWA combines a series of federal sanctions and initiatives as well as national, state, and local resources to improve the response to crimes against women. These funds are committed to four specific areas: prosecution, law enforcement, victim service, and courts.
Curiously, while Alaska receives crucial funds from the VAWA act in order to administer its sexual assault programs, Sen. John McCain voted against VAWA twice.
so you elephant heads, especially the women, still want to vote for John McCain? if you dont believe all of this is true.. just do your research. I do.
Just look @ the pros and cons when you do so. that’s true research. you gotta look @ both sides of the equation, and decide for yourself.
in fact, I dont like both candidates, and I’m black..
“Who you votin’ for? Satan or Satan?” lol.
