Daddy Yankee’s McCain Support Being Questioned
Daddy Yankee’s endorsement of John McCain has caused quite a response from his fans. Some support his decision, but the majority have been left confused.
Well, according to Politico, D Yankee is doing all of this for publicity and not because he particularly cares about McCain.
Daddy supposedly contacted Barack Obama’s people a while back wanting to possibly endorse the presidential candidate.
When Obama’s team passed, Daddy apparently turned to McCain and the old dude took the bait.
Hmm…makes you wonder.

Like I said before who cares who endorses who. Anybody who votes for a President based on what star endorses him, especially a star that may not even be able to vote, is an idiot.

I actually heard that it was because Don Omar is endorsing Obama that he went for McCain. Don Omar’s legal residence is in New Jersey, so he can really vote.
I don’t think Obama’s people would passed his support, unless he was asking for money, which is the reason I believe he’s doing this.

Anyone who votes just because a celebrity likes them is stupid. Why not vote for someone because you agree with them as well as have a voice in making a change in the United States for the better?
And if Obama passed on Yankee because of his legal problems in the past in what is being said then it is his lost and McCain’s gain. Who care what Yankee did in the past? That is why it is called the past. Should we be judging Obama more because he was a drug addict in the past? It is Yankee choice and his belief so everyone should leave him alone.

Nobody cares whose endorsing who, but caring is different from mattering. Endorsments are really good for presidential candidates, especially when it comes to well know celebridades como DY…even if he/they can’t vote. In the end both parties benefit from it. On one side you have more presidential adds, banners, and possibly votes, and in the other you have more album sales and recognition not only within the latino community but the African American and not to mention the white community.
And Kelly, I agree with you when you say that it is stupid to vote for somebody just because your favorite celebraties support them, but it happens all the time. And not only in politics, but fashion, entertainments, music and all those big industries.
I also think we should vote for presidential candidates based on what they “promise” to do once they are in office or at least the change we want to see in the future (when are we ever going to see another African American presidential candidate run for President…I don’t know, but I would like to see it happen now). This will open the doors for maybe a Latino, born in the U.S to run for president. But anyways back to my first point, even though McCain and Obama promise all these things to obtain the vote, they are not even going to get to half of these promises…it has happened in the past, it will happen now, and it will continue to happen int he future.

I totally agree with Kelly!
BTW….Daddy Yankee’s publicist Mayna Nevarez has said this is not true when she was asked by the Washington Post about this rumor.
“This is completely false. Our camp never approached the Obama camp. The Obama and Clinton camps were calling our office before the Puerto Rican primary, trying to get Yankee to endorse them. The McCain camp approached us, as well.
Nevarez adds, “Yankee considered all the proposals and he liked McCain’s. That’s why he decided to endorse him. There was never an offer to endorse Obama. That never happened.”

I have now lost all respect for Daddy Yankee for being in support of another four years of the same failed policies that have put more Latinos in poverty than ever before. Since John McCain and the Republican Party only look after the rich, and since Daddy Yankee is now rich himself, he can support the “Old White Haired Dude,” forgetting that it is mostly not-well-to-do Latino kids who have put all that money in his bank account. Join me in NOT supporting McCain and exposing Daddy Yankee as a traitor to his fans!!!

First, why all the buzz about Daddy Yankee supporting McCain? There are many artists and actors who publicly support Obama, so why is there the WOW when a Latino does it? First of all, Daddy Yankee doesn’t need the publicity he obviously is very well known and Second, do you even know anything about the campaign issues? I am an International Relations Specialist, and I don’t want to undermine anyone but people please EDUCATE yourself. For the one who said Lation’s are a minority…(what country are you living on?) Latino’s are the #1 minority majority in this country, and yes, a huge part of our commnity if Republican..Let’s not go any further than Univision…big Republican contributor… Everyone has the right to think different from you…get out of your nut shell! As for being poor…GO TO SCHOOL and get an education so you can be worth something, don’t blame others for your failure! As for Daddy Yankee worrying about PR politics…Lady PR is a part of the U.S., they just don’t pay taxes so our president affects you…and Daddy Yankee is not a politician…why don’t you educate yourself and run for office…sometimes you have to be the change you want to see in the world (Ghandi) …
