Daddy Yankee Endorses John McCain
Remember when Daddy Yankee met up with John McCain in Washington DC?
It turns out that John made a good impression on El Cangri.
On Monday morning, the presidential hopeful and Daddy Yankee showed up at Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
John said Daddy is a “great American success story” and the reggaetonero had some nice things to say about the old guy too:
“It is a very special honor to be here. I am here to endorse Senator McCain because I believe in his ideals.”

Everyone has their opinon on who should be President just like Yankee believes this is the man who should be on top. People are in ths heated debate on who is the best future President.
And if you like Obama fine, but people are getting poor by the day due to high prices of everything, yet you don’t see Obama addressing this. The only thing his ads are saying is tax breaks for the middle class. What about everyone else? Maybe Yankee is on to something and doesn’t forget the poor and what struggles they are going through.

my opinion of him has never really been that great so this has nothing to do with my opinion of him as a person. He as an american is allowed to choose who he wants, lets just hope he doesnt regret his choice in the long run. Would he have voted for Bush in the past, because that is what he is doing all over again. He lives the high life and doesnt know struggle, maybe in the past he has but that life is history to him and no longer thought of. Well maybe he can do benefit concerts once we all go poor due to the rich getting richer if McCain wins.

How can he talk about immigration when he was born a citizen of this country ?
I like some of his music but if I had a daughter i would be very offended if my daughter attended a conference where they sing about sex and drugs?

You know what? Being a Mexican American female, I am a proud supporter of McCain. I don’t give a crap about what anyone says. One thing I love about living here in the US is that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Daddy Yankee is a very smart business man and evidentially he does agree with his views or else he would not be backing him up.

First let me say that I respect everybody’s opinions…but I am tempted to bring up certain points, just to keep in mind. When we ask ourselves who should we vote for, we do take into consideration the political issues that are at stake, especially when they benefit us the most. However, presidential hopefuls may talk all the shit they want and promise everything they know will help them earn the vote. But once they are in office all those promises go down the drain. For one, because it is not up to the President to decide what laws should be implemented, or at least this power is not fully in thier hands. Congress decides what laws stays and what laws go. The president can veto a law, but when votes are at stake you better be sure that the president will be on the majority side. So, presidential hopefuls my promise everything they want, but in the end these promises are left up in the air. CA governor was brought into office because he had promised to sign a law that will benefit immigrants, but once he took office he basically said “kiss my ass immigrants.” Preesident Bush seemed like the perfect candidate when he was elected and re-elected, but know that he has taken us to war after 9/11 everybody seems to dislike him. McCain and Obama are no different. They will promise, they will say that if they are eleceted president they will give all immigrants helthcare, provide and equal education opportunity for middle class society, blah, blah, blah…but in the end they all fucked forget! So Daddy Yankee, I am sure he will regret voting for McCain, at some point we all do regret our presidential choice. But this being said…we do need some more color in Congress and in office…so I think its time for this nation to see what a black president can do!

First of all, Daddy Yankee lives in Puerto Rico, he couldn’t voted for Bush, he can’t vote for McCain either. I’m sooooo sure he got paid a lot of money to do this. McCain can’t get the black vote because they are probably going to Obama, he needs the Latino vote and, especially, the young Latino vote.

La Verdad no offense and if I am not mistaking, Puerto Rico is a non-nationalized state…I guess we can call it a state, of the United States, which means every person who lives in Puerto Rico is granted U.S Citizenship, which means that Daddy Yankee would have to register to vote within the 50 states…but he is definitely granted the right to vote either way.
Oh and one more thing, I was watching the news today, they were covering this same story and what really caught my attention was when the news person interviewed this little girl that looked 16 years old. It was interesting and stupid-funny. Interesting because she said that she was going for Obama at first, but after this she was going to re-think her choice and vote McCain (this takes me back to a comment I made on the RBD BS, adressing Mimi I think it was…here yet another media influence). And stupid-funny because she looked 16 years old and at that age you can’t even register to vote…haha!
OBAMA LET’S GO!!!

Genny, Puerto Rico is a colony of United States, in the 1920’s the U.S. Congress made Puerto Ricans citizens in order to send the men to the war, but if you live in Puerto Rico, you can’t vote in the election for US President. If a Puerto Rican moves to US (like it’s my case) they can vote in the election after a year of legal residence in the US.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Daddy Yankee is doing this because he got paid. The McCain people were probably thinking, who can we hired to get the Latino vote? DY was the chosen one.

La Verdad thanks for the lesson…I guess I was a little confused since we don’t really see Puerto Rico involve in the history of the U.S. But know I can say that, that is some bull shit! How are they just going to use the beautiful people of PR for war. But that comes to show how the U.S has made its history.
But I guess you are right, DY must have received quite and amount of dinero to actually be doing this. Because I am sure he knows that more than half of the Latino population here in the U.S votes Democrat.
Oh and about the little girl I meantioned, I am sure she was 16 yr old since this shit took place in a HS. Who would be stupid enough to interview someone that can’t even vote yet…of course Univision, which was were I saw the interview.

My daugther is about to become a teenager and never in a million years would I buy her such music. I made the mistake of getting pregnant as a teenager and I will never support a candidate and a singer that promote promiscuity.

WoW..i can’t believe Yankee endorsed him. I mean really, come on. That just show Yankee really hasn’t been paying attention to the news. Because if he really did, he would not be going for McCain, but then again, Yankee does have alot of money, and McCain’s plans as President only benefits wealthy people. And if you saw the democratic and republican convention, you can obviously see the majority of what type of supporters support each candidate. At OBAMA’s convention, which was freakin AWESOME, there were average looking americans, and people of ALL races; white, black, latinos, asians, middle-easterns. Basically it was a unity of ALL people and showed the face of AMERICA. But at John MCCain’s convention, no lie, all you saw were a bunch of white people (no offense) in freshly pressed suits, and stiff collars. It really looked like a meeting of FORBES magazine ‘richest people’.
\Basically, its pretty obvious who likes who. OBAMA is for the average, struggling american and non-american people; while McCain is just going to continue the policies that benefits the overflowing pockets of the corporate world.
Nice try McCain, but come on…. Daddy Yankee?
And thanks Daddy Yankee, you’ve really showed us who you really support!

No he’s still out there in another country, Pakistan perhaps, who knows where. For those of you who support McCain and this war than go ahead vote for McCain and while your’re at it join the fighting in Irac.
