Lets kick off the year with a list of the ten musical artists that we feel will make it big and be the next wave of talent in the Latin world. These are our top ten favorites and soon to be yours.
alicastro.jpgAlicastro - The latest male pop/rock artist to come out of Colombia. A combination of Juanes and Fonseca, Alicastro is sure to find his success in Latin listeners and more - like the former two. He is poetic and his rhythm is right on.
ana christina.jpgAna Cristina - We have been waiting several years for Ana Cristina to take off. She has had the ‘up and coming’ title for quite some time, but we feel and hope that 2007 will be her year. She needed to stay away from being too much like Christina Aguilera and find her own groove.
antonio carmona.jpgAntonio Carmona - At 41 years, Antonio Carmona is the oldest on this list. He combines pop, urban, and flamenco to create a gitano-gypsy like sound. It doesn’t hurt that Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Gustavo Santaolalla worked on a few songs on his album.
christian300191.jpgChristian Acosta - The only one on the list that we’ve already talked about on Latin Gossip, primarily because he can be found at most red carpet events, Christian Acosta is set to shine in his career. Destined for commercial success, Christian is that rare combination of looks, talent, personality, and guts.
haze.jpgHaze - It’s hard to take him seriously as an urban artist because of his good looks, but that is exactly why Haze will burst into the scene very soon. Like Calle 13’s Residente, Haze knows how to use his face to get people to listen to his words.
Jean.jpgJean - Probably the best male singer on this list, Jean is a crooner that will make all the females melt. Urban quality for edge and a touch of pop for mainstream likabilty, Jean is going to conquer two charts at once.
jeremias2.jpgJeremias - There are some people that exude every quality of a true musician and Jeremias is one of them. Another pop rock artist, Jeremias will prove that he can reach out to audiences in all of Latin America and more.
kiko and shara.jpgKiko & Shara - Too cute. Brother and sister get together and sing. Singing light and melodic tunes, Kiko will surely drive all the tweens mad while Shara takes care of seducing their brothers. We can already hear the sing alongs at their concerts.
kudai2.jpgKudai - This Chilean band found some success in 2006, but will surely grow this year. With the addition of a new member, Kudai is now more versatile that ever. This actual musical band should be a nice challenge for RBD.
naty.jpgNaty Botero - She’s a little crazy and that is what we love about her. Naty Botero sings of controversial topics and sorta kinda makes strange noises during her songs. If it all sounds odd that is because it is, but, trust us, you’ll be chanting along very soon.
