PETA On President Fernandez’s Fur Hat Fiasco
On Monday, we told you about the fur hat that Russian President Dmitri Medvédev gave to Argentina’s President Cristina Fernandez.
LatinGossip.com contacted PETA to see what they had to say about the gift and the president’s choice of immediately putting it on and here is what they had to say:
“First of all, who gives someone a hat made of animal corpses? That’s a sad “goodwill gesture” if we’ve ever heard one. Doesn’t President Medvédev know that animals who are killed for their fur are kept in tiny cages where they go insane before they are anally or vaginally electrocuted, strangled, and often skinned alive?
And while President Fernandez may have been caught off guard by this gory gift, we wish that instead of wearing the hat, she would have reminded President Medvédev that dead animals should be buried, not worn. We encourage President Fernandez to show goodwill to all—including animals—by donating the fur to PETA.”
So, President Fernandez…what will it be???
