Padre Alberto Had Sex, Unsure of What’s Next
Padre Alberto is the most famous Latino figure right now! Who would’ve guessed?!
On The Early Show Monday morning, he spoke with Maggie Rodriguez and said:
“I entered the seminary 22 years ago. And in 22 years I’ve never had a sexual relationship with anyone. I committed myself fully to my vows. I’ve never been sexually inappropriate with anyone. I’ve never had any type of scandal. This is the only person that I’ve had sexual contact with.”
He also said that even though he believes he is in love, he is unsure whether he is going to marry his girlfriend or end the relationship.

Padre Alberto is right ,imo, that the celibacy vow should be optional. I think he and Ruhama will stay together and eventually marry and have a family. If not, that’ll be something else Alberto will have to deal with: losing his first love.
The Catholic church should modify it’s rules a little bit. I support Padre Alberto 100%. I wish him and his girlfriend the best. Falling in love isn’t a crime. As far as him hiding the relationship all I have to say is to err is human, to forgive is divine.
