We miss 2006 already. A day like today calls for relecting on the last twelve months and we have compiled a list of the most talked about chismes, stories, and scandals of 2006. It was hard to narrow it down to just ten - but here goes.

We speculated many times throughout 2006 that Aracely Arambula was pregnant with Luis Miguel’s child. We brought you the pictures of Aracely’s tummy on the cover of Hola! magazine, but sadly for fans, we still have not received confirmation directly from Luismi or Aracely.

Oh, Paulina Rubio! How much we love her. She beat someone with her purse, ignored Lili Estefan, but still accomplished big success with her new album, Ananda. Get ready for Paulina to make more news in 2007 as she gets married to Colate.

It was a tragic year in Mexican music. First Joan Sebastian’s son, Trigo Figueroa, was shot and killed. A few months later Valentin Elizalde was murdered and only a week after that, Lupillo Rivera was reportedly shot at. Javier Morales Gomez was also killed. Even more, several singers are still receiving death threats.

Family feud! Thalia’s sisters, Laura Zapata and Ernestina Sodi cause a very public and ugly family quarrel. Ernestina blames Laura. Laura’s face freezes up. Laura disses Thalia. Too much to handle.

David Bisbal, known for his Shirley Temple locks, chopped off his hair in his new music video. It is all for a good cause and the world mourned the loss of the curls. He proved though, that he still smells good.

Alejandro Sanz admitted that he has a secret son with another woman. Turns out his ex, Jaydy Mitchel, knew all along. Even more surprising is that Shakira knew as well. We hate being kept in the dark.

Luis Fonsi and Adamari Lopez tie the knot in Puerto Rico. As you may know, Adamari overcame breast cancer and was beautiful at her wedding. Luis Fonsi continues being the proper gentleman he has always been and they were both selected as the Stars of the Year.

Calle 13 – The surprise winners of the year. We have loved these two locos from the beginning and even predicted that they would win at the Grammys. Our prediction came true and caused a ruckus in the reggaeton community. Plus, Residente proved to have a hard head.

He opened his big mouth. Tiziano Ferro talked smack about Mexican women having moustaches and, in turn, had a whole country hate him. He apologized many times and tried to make it up – but in the end, it seems that there was certainly too much irreparable damage done.

Another celeb who pissed off Mexico. The worst part about this one though is that he is Mexican himself. A video of AB Quintanilla dissing Mexicans made its way around Latin America. AB played the blame game, but then eventually offered to apologize like a girl scout. To this day, Kumbia Allstarz are still not welcome everywhere.
