Miss USA Booed In Mexico City
Miss Japan took the crown last night at the Miss Universe pageant, but what we want to discuss is how the audience booed Miss USA. We have two theories for this:
Theory 1: Miss USA fell on her bum (see video clip) and courageously got up and continued doing her thing. Despite the fall, she made the cut to the next round and Miss Mexico did not. Could the audience have been upset with this decision?
Theory 2: The political tension between Mexico and USA could have been the cause for the boos while Miss USA spoke during the question portion of the pageant.
PS - If you ask us all of the Latinas were beautiful, but we honestly believe that Miss Brazil should have taken the crown. She was flawless!
The booing after the jump.

It’s really a shame that the Mexican audience didn’t act in a civilized and polite manner. What kind of message do they want to send the world? This kind of behavior does nothing but make you appear uneducated and vulgar. That was naco behavior!

Besides the booing during Miss USA’s question, she was also booed at the National Costumes Parade a couple of days earlier in Mexico City. I thought Miss USA was very professional. She kept her composer, and she thanked the rude crowd at the end. That is class.

iit was very tacky for them to act like that. they booed her even before she tripped at the national costume parade. explain what reason they had to do that. the pageant is supposed to be a venue for all the girls to do something positive for the world. it is not the place for political grudges. I sat in awe when i heard the audience boo someone who was saying that her most memorable time was “volunteering in south africa.” seriously, who would do such a thing. the fact that the usa girl had poise and elegance after falling was reason enough to give her a place. i mean the girl was walking as if nothing had happened.besides she would have beat miss mexico anyway.

So that was the reason mexicans wanted the Miss Universe contest in Mexico to get to boo miss USA. That was so low class, this is the first time in the history of miss universe that something like this happen. I can’t believe it!!!

I agree that it was not right for the Mexican people who were present at the even to booo Miss USA, regarless of the issues Mexico and the USA are going through right now. Also, even if she fell flat on her as…there was not a reason to boo her. aregarding Miss Mexico not making the cut, its OK, the judges might have felt bad for Miss USA when she fell, or simply decided that Miss Mexico did not deserve to win given the Boooing to Miss USA.
One more thing, Annie, I agree with you when you say that Miss USA kept her cool when she still got booed in the National Costumes Parade…but isn’t that part of her job? She was not about to stand there and curse everybody out for booing her. I am positive she felt that urge to curse all those people out. I am sure that if any of us where in her position, we would get that feeling, but given our position in her case…we wouldnt even dare if we were going for the Miss Universe crown. But, in general, I do think it was wrong for people to boo her, for Miss Mexico not making the cut and anything that was so unusual.

I fell she shouldn’t have even made the top 10.. She was not graceful and looked like a 14 year old boy in a dress.. and it only shows that she was not made to be there when she fell on her butt…. She deserves to be booed..

I agree with MexicanBoy….that’s the way Mexican people are. But I don’t think she should have been booed……and she should’nt have been in the top 5 either! The judges probably just felt sorry for her. LJMS, don’t they ALL look like 14 yr. old boys? They’re supposed to be skinny, since they’re competing in a pageant. I think there’s a lot of hate because she’s dark. Trust me, there are lots of racist minorities, too.

I was disheartened to hear the boos for Miss USA. Although I do believe she shouldn’t have made the cut she earned the audiences respect after the parade of costumes. Had that happened vice versa can you imagine the hell Mexico would’ve raised??????

First of all, not all the audience was mexican, there were people from all over the world there. As we most of us know usa is hated in many nations, mainly because of the war. Second, mexicans who live in mexico dont really care about the immagration stuff, thats why they’re happy in mexico.

MEXtv=goodTV, you’re wrong, we mexicans (some of us) are pretty concerned about the immigration thing… there’s a lot of paisanos and latinos that are suffering and we mexicans (I’m one of them) are very worried about it!…
Obviously there are some mexicans (the wealthy and/or careless ones) who don’t care about it!

Miss USA showed respect and tack will in Mexico and unlike the Mexicans that legally or illegally live here in America she took the time to learn and speak their language while in their country and not try to make an entire nation change to fit her native language because she’s to lay to learn the language spoken by the majority.

If the Mexicans in Mexico were so happy living there; there wouldn’t be so many risking their lives on a daily basis to get into the US. Mexicans are very worried about the immigration issue; especially when there are more and more people pushing for government to completely close off the border.

Miss usa didn’t promounced her word right. (but i do think she very HOT and beautiful, but no more than Miss Mexico. and you can’t say thats not true, cause you know it is)
MexicanBOY, trust me Mexicans are not dying to come to this country, no matter if they’re rich or poor. And you are one of those people who give mexicans a bad name, just because you act one way doesn’t mean every mexican is the same way you are. and i can tell you that mexicans are great people.

Have any of you guys EVER watched a beauty pageant before? Obviously the crowd was clueless. It’s not the fact that Miss USA fell, it’s HOW SHE HANDLED IT that was the important thing. If you can get up with grace and move on and not look embarrassed that gets you extra brownie points because it shows grace under pressure.
The audience, whatever nationality they were, were rude and ignorant. Miss USA doesn’t make foreign policy and this is not the venue for that. She’s not a politician. And if the Mexican people are “really like that” then they have a lot to learn about good manners.

Mexicans did the same thing to Miss USA in 1993 when the pageant was hosted in that racist country of trash. These people have no class and don’t deserve to be on the world stage. Real big and macho tough guys you are to boo women. Feel that glorious pride for beating up on girls you piss poor excuses for men.
