Celebrity perfumes are nothing new and everyone from screen legend Elizabeth Taylor to 80’s pop singer Debbie Gibson has placed their name on a fragrance.
The trend has made its way to the famosos in the Latin world. It seems that everyone these days has a perfume of their own.We don’t blame them. Having a product on the market is yet another way to extend their brand as a public figure and it fattens their wallets at the same time, or
at least that’s what is expected. Glow by Jennifer Lopez raked in a reported $40 million during its first six months on the shelves. That’s a hefty number and everyone
wants a piece of it.Spanish singer David Bisbal sells matching his and her fragrances, but he isn’t the only Spaniard
to get into the smelly business. Antonio Banderas, Zorro himself, has been on the perfume market for years and in the fall of 2007, Alejandro Sanz launched his fragrance named Siete. The always controversial Niurka Marcos and actress Lucia Mendez have dueling perfumes with pheromones that supposedly makes it easier for you to turn on the opposite sex.
It’s probably important to note that Niurka is on her third marriage and Lucia recently divorced. So does it work? The next one to join in on the celebrity perfume battle is Paulina Rubio. While we can only imagine what it’ll smell like, if her record sales are any indication, it’ll
probably sell real well. The director of her perfume says that the scent will capture Paulina’s personality.
