don+pedro+riveraIt’s so nice to be able to count on grandpa!

Don Pedro Rivera spoke with “El Gordo y La Flaca” and defended Chiquis Rivera‘s first song and her singing after it received TONS of criticism from all over.

He said:

“My granddaughter is doing the right thing by singing with what she’s got and she is not trying to be anyone else. That’s the first thing that should be done, the second is to put all of your energy and dedication to what you do and what you like. The criticism will always exist, people will always see the error and the defects in everything, but the artist has to keep going.”

He also spoke not as a grandfather, but as a music industry expert. He said:

“To all of the people that criticize singers I want to tell them that nobody is born to sing. This is a job, an art that is learned. Because if I was to show you the first recordings of the artists that I helped develop, then everyone will realize what I’m talking about. Normally, a person that gets into singing as a career, has to hold on about 10 to 15 years to triumph. I congratulate my granddaughter because she has a lot of charisma, she already has 50% won because the whole world loves her without the singing. Now that she is singing, I think there will be a lot of jealous people all over.”
