7:00 PM - Here we go with the green carpet coverage.
7:01 PM - Giselle Blondet looks so much better Barbara Bermudo.
7:02 PM - Juanes arrived in a jean jacket. Very him, but we don’t think it’s right for this event.
7:05 PM - Someone take Flex’s sunglasses off!!!
7:05 PM - Tommy Torres has a beautiful velour jacket on. So nice.
7:08 PM - Jose Feliciano has on a fantastic black satin jacket.
7:12 PM - Montserrat Olivier looks AMAZING! She has on a red dress that is perfect for her.
7:14 PM - Paty Manterola is giving Montserrat some strong competition.
7:16 PM - Tito ‘El Bambino’ is in a white suit. Daring and it works.
7:18 PM - Alejandra Guzman is an ostrich mess. We didn’t expect anything less.
7:21 PM - We love Ednita Nazario, but she looks like a disco ball. Doesn’t work.
7:23 PM - Cabas arrived with his wife, Johana Bahamon, who also dated Juanes for a minute. Imagine if they bump into each other!!!
7:30 PM - Fonseca forgot his tie at home.
7:35 PM - Jenni Rivera is not walking the green carpet because she doesn’t want anyone asking about her porno video.
7:37 PM - Julieta Venegas needs more makeup.
7:45 PM - It’s been raining every day in Houston…thank goodness is stopped raining today.
7:52 PM - So good to see Gloria Estefan with her mom…remember, she was really sick this past year.
7:54 PM - Lile Estefan has boobs tonight! How?
7:56 PM - Rosario looks like a bohemian on crack.
7:58 PM - Victor Manuelle in black with a gray tie. Again, on point.
8:00 PM - The show starts.
8:01 PM - We love Juanes. We love Me Enamora.
8:04 PM - Just like we told you, he is singing with John Legend…and John is singing in Spanish.
8:05 PM - Kind of a boring duet, no?
8:08 PM - Umm…total letdown.
8:12 PM - Yay! Kany Garcia won Best New Artist!!
8:15 PM - Juanes wins Mejor Album Vocal Pop Masculino. Duh!
8:23 PM - Emilio Navaira won the Mejor Album de Musica Tejana. Boy, he’s gained some weight! Just kidding, that wasn’t him. Emilio was in two accidents in the last six months. It’s better that he stay at home.
8:24 PM - Jenni Rivera looks good. The dress is over the top though. You know everyone is looking at her and imagining her doing naughty things like in her porno video.
8:26 PM - Did Jenni get a nose job?
8:28 PM - Nah. We take that back. From far away it looked like it, but no.
8:28 PM - Jenni cried. Seeking sympathy?
8:30 PM - Olga Tañon better kick it up a notch. So far, not so good.
8:31 PM - Here comes Jenni again!
8:33 PM - …and Vikki Carr.
8:34 PM - The three of them don’t sound good together. Ouch.
8:43 PM - Kenny G is cool again.
8:44 PM - Gloria and Emilio Estefan win Mejor Cancion Tropical. Emilio dedicated the award to a Cuba libre…one day.
8:46 PM - Flex and Belinda are up.
8:48 PM - It’s a cute performance…pitchy, but cute.
8:49 PM - The show is still missing a WOW performance.
8:55 PM - Album of the Year goes to…JUANES with La Vida Es…Un Ratico.
8:57 PM - Gustavo Santaolalla is the man behind Juanes’ music.
8:58 PM - This performance is all about the different music styles from different regions in Latin America.
9:00 PM - That was awesome with the different sounds!
9:01 PM - Julieta Venegas with El Presente. Such a good song!
9:04 PM - That was nice…still not WOW.
9:10 PM - Flex wins a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Song. TAKE YOUR SUNGLASSES OFF!!!
9:11 PM - Flex has been at this for a loooong time. He deserves it.
9:13 PM - Los Tigres Del Norte. Consistently good.
9:21 PM - Maria Elena Salinas is one hot mama.
9:22 PM - Andy Garcia is wearing a navy blue suit. NIIIICE!
9:23 PM - Love Gloria Estefan. She has done it all and done it well!
9:27 PM - Like we said, Gloria with Jose Feliciano and Carlos Santana.
9:32 PM - How great was it that Gloria mentioned Celia Cruz and Israel ‘Cachao’ Lopez in her acceptance speech…
9:40 PM - Spanish rock has sort of died down, right? Cafe Tacvba take home the Best Rock Song award.
9:42 PM - How much money does each member of Banda El Recodo take home after they split the profits among everyone?
9:50 PM - Belanova won Best Pop Duo/Group Album!!!!
9:51 PM - Song of the Year…Juanes Me Enamora. Totally!
9:53 PM - Jorge Celedon’s song is very uplifting. Que bonita es esta vida!!!!
9:55 PM - That was probably the best performance so far. Musically and visually. The combination of Colombian and Mexican dancers was a nice touch.
10:02 PM - Jose Feliciano wins Mejor Album Tropical Contemporaneo.
10:05 PM - Jose just dedicated the award to Maria Celeste Arraras! He said that she has always supported him. He just mentioned her name on UNIVISION!
10:07 PM - We want Alejandra Guzman to do well…
10:08 PM - The tape covering Alejandra’s nipple is completely exposed. At least she used tape!
10:11 PM - We were nervous throughout that whole song.
10:15 PM - For those of you that don’t know Buika…you MUST! She is mind-blowing!
10:16 PM - Mejor Album Musica Norteña goes to Signo. Who are they??
10:18 PM - Victor Manuelle!
10:19 PM - Andy Garcia looked pissed that Victor was singing to/about him.
10:21 PM - That was a good performance. Jorge Celedon’s was a little better though.
10:26 PM - Cafe Tacvba…bring it.
10:31 PM - Did the keyboard fall on the floor? He kept on playing as if nothing happened! That’s rock and roll!
10:33 PM - Kany Garcia wins Mejor Album Vocal Pop Femenino!
10:38 PM - Fonseca was OK. Not great. Not bad.
10:43 PM - Grabacion del Año goes to Juanes with Me Enamora. Doesn’t he get tired of winning?!
10:45 PM - Juanes just said we chose the right President!
10:52 PM - Kany Garcia and Tommy Torres both proved to have talent. Still nothing that made us say WOW. We want to say WOW!
10:57 PM - Rosario, Olga, Juanes, Jeremias, Antonio, Tommy, and Belinda put on a nice ’save the world’ number to close the award ceremony. Olga looked amazing!
11:02 PM - Show is over. We’ve seen better. Your thoughts?

EEK!
disclaimer: sorry, i’m caribbean and our genres are considerably a world apart. just wondering, in the name of education and cultural diversity.

And the Flex & Beli performance was uhh…..idk even know what. Kinda disappointment, seemed pitchy [like you said] and really unenergetic….Beli looked good tho…different than her usual look.

Jorge Celedon is a vallenatero, not a bachatero (Bachata is a Dominican thing). He was awesome. VIVA COLOMBIA, that song was awesome! The mexican dancers and mariachi were good too.

I’m super happy Kany Garcia won the first Grammy. But so far I’m not really liking the Grammy’s this year. So far the best performance has been Juanes and John Legend.

I agree the show hasn’t had that “wow” factor”. The Juanes performance has come closest tho.

I think it was a big mistake it made it boring and she wasn’t up to the other 2 singers voices ………….yes Jenny Rivera , was awful, she can go back and sing her own music that’s the only thing she is good at I guess , but her voice didn’t measure up to Olga Tanon and Vikki Carr come on….no se porque la pusieron ella tan corriente con dos señoras grandes de la musica.

This had to be the worst Latin Grammys ever.Juanes and Gloria were the ONLY bright spots. I am also quite embarassed to be a Latino woman after seeing most of the women wearing gaudy gowns and tons of makeup. Not to mention false tetas hanging out all over. Terrible waste of TV time.

It was awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was like a horrible joke. It annoyed me that they didnt represent all of the latinos.
Some of the people who were nominated, and even some of the songs, I never heard of it before.
I feel like I was under a rock for the past year.

Omgosh, the Latin Grammy Awards was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring this year. It was awful. I wish alot more artists would of been their, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Aventura, Wisin Y Yandel, Angel y Khriz (they could of perform their hit song Na de Na) RKM Y Ken-Y. Reik, Camila, Of course Daddy Yankee. It would of been sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. It was wayyyy to longggg. Alot of artists didn’t even get a chance to get on stage and receive the award. Their wasn’t enough time!

Ok now that I’ve actually watched the show (Thank God for fast forwarding lol) I will comment:
1. Borrrrring. Seriously had I had to sit through the whole I would have been knocked out.
2. Didn’t like Jenni’s first performance but did enjoy the one with Olga and Vicki. I thought the way it was done very nice -have the two ladies who re-did the song (Olga and Jenni) along with one of the original singers, Vicki. It would have been awesome had Ana Gabriel been there also.
As for why they had Jenni with Olga and Vicki - maybe ‘cuz Olga and Jenni did a remake of the song for one of Olga’s albums. I thought they all sounded good together. As for why she didn’t walk the carpet - who knows? She could have been late, she could have been trying to get into her dress, etc… LOL This year it seems even the walking of the carpet was boring.
I loved the short version of Jenni’s though. You go girl - I have never been a fan of twigs or chicks I could use as a toothpick, so you go ahead with your plus sized self. Laugh and dance your way all to the bank!
3. The final performance of the night - does anybody know the name of the song they were singing? Olga looked awesome in that final outfit.
4. Nobody had mentioned Victor Manuelle on here; so I was nicely surprised when he came out to perform. That man is HOT! Loved the little kids that came out and danced - they were wonderful.
And is it me or did Andy Garcia’s daughter looked like the most bored person at the show? LOL
5. Love Gloria but wtf was that shit she had on during her performance? The dress would have been fine without all that fringe stuff at the bottom. Loved when they showed her mother singing along. God bless Gloria and Emilio for still being together after all these years.
6. Flex I could have done without. Geezus will this one hit wonder just disappear already. Do people seriously think that song is good? Oh wait, that’s right, according to him he’s more famous than Luis Miguel. LMFAO!
7. Loved Juanes and John Legend and the message the songs had. John’s Spanish was quite good - I was impressed. LOL
K that’s it for now. Overall though, yeah, it was not all that of a show. Hopefully next year will be better.
They should do surveys during the year as to who people would like to see on the show and then pick the performers from that list. It’s just an idea. LOL

Ok my bad I missed the part about Jenni not wanting to be asked about the video. I can understand that. Doesn’t matter whether the video is good or not or what she thinks of the video - this is Spanish media. Guaranteed one of them would have asked about the video. Good to her for avoiding that and, for lack of better words, not disrespecting the event so to speak. Had she walked the carpet and been asked about the video and responded; then people would have been complaining about that.
