Jencarlos Canela Nominated For Premio Lo Nuestro
This may not seem like news from the outside but actually it’s a pretty big deal.
Premio Lo Nuestro nominations were announced and Jencarlos Canela was nominated!
So what, right? Well, Jencarlos is signed to Telemundo.
Univision NEVER promotes a Telemundo artist or show…in fact, anyone working for Telemundo basically gets blacklisted from Univision.
Here’s the kicker…JC is up for Best New Artist with Alex, Jorge, y Lena and Debi Nova. We think he has a very good chance of taking home the award too!

Its also possible that Univision is trying to court Jencarlos. Univision, like Telemundo, is doing their own productions. Univision as a whole seems to have a different outlook…I guess time will tell.

These awards are so weird sometimes nominations are from cd’s that are a couple years old. If he’s nominated it just means he’s going to switch to Univision maybe because Telemundo thought he was gaining weight.

I agree with Valeria! This guy has SOOOOOOO much talent, charm, looks, he is educated (graduating with honors from art school), he is such a nice person, and he has done so well in a relatively short amount of time. Univision execs. would be idiots not to go after him! Oh, and he sings great so the nomination is well deserved!
